Position Summary

The successful candidate for this position will be an integral member of the gross-to-net revenue accounting team. This position is responsible for month end close journal entries, preparation of account reconciliations and analysis and review of financial information related to revenue accounting, with an emphasis on revenue deductions (gross-to-net or “GTN”).

major areas of responsibility

  • Prepare monthly sales report for use in calculation of monthly gross to net journal entries to accurately close the financial books

  • Calculate and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for gross-to-net government rebates

  • Calculate and reconcile distribution service agreements (DSA) and trade distribution fee accruals and prepare related account analysis and review

  • Record industrial funding fee (IFF) journal entries and prepare account reconciliations

  • Responsible to calculate and record generic product accruals, review account analysis, and prepare related account reconciliations

  • Calculate and record monthly chargeback accruals and update account reconciliations monthly

  • Own the product returns reserve accrual by preparing journal entries and related reconciliations for the month end financial close

  • Calculate product returns models and lead and annual returns sampling exercise

  • Ensure adherence to month end close due dates and other corporate reporting deadlines

  • Provide analytical, accounting and reporting support to assigned responsibilities, including monthly fluctuation variance explanations of actuals vs. actual/plan/forecast

  • Responsible for SOX compliance related to the above duties and assist with the quarterly and annual financial and SOX404 certification

Other duties

  • Prepare ad hoc requests, and/or participate in special projects, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILL/ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

  • 5+ years of accounting/finance experience required

  • Pharmaceutical industry preferred

  • Public accounting experience and/or a CPA or CPA candidate preferred

  • Flexible to work longer hours during the month end/quarter end close

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to use advanced Excel spreadsheet functions and formulas to build and maintain models used for calculating and forecasting gross-to-net deductions

  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel, including senior management

  • Interested candidates must possess high ethical standards, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong technical and analytical skills, and be team focused
